In terms of local lounges it ranks at the top, both geographically and socially from its rooftop location atop the Adriana Hotel on Hvar harbor. From a groovy lobby lounge with its own following, guests arrive to the rooftop with walls pulsating in ambient blue lighting as martini drinkers in their designer resort wear sit on low-flung sofas and groovy club chairs arranged facing oversize windows overlooking Hvar harbor. This isn't the flimsy Ikea furnishing of your usual new design property. All eyes fixate on the elevator awaiting the next cute batch of singles to arrive to the bar, peaking around 12am with locals coming between Carpe Diem or their docked yacht along the harbor. An outdoor terrace connects to several lounge areas arranged in weatherized rattan with cushy pillows and flickering candlelit.
Tips
During busier summer months there is an upper level VIP lounge that never seems to have much organization.
Last Word
We consider it one of the biggest accomplishments in Hvar since the fall of communism, namely a super stylish rooftop lounge at a luxury boutique hotel that could compete with the best of Italy and Greece.
